Hi! I'm Ariana, Assistant Professor of Applied Linguistics & Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies at Penn State.

I am a sociophonetician and sociocultural linguist with a mixed-methods flare. My research is concerned with the construction of identity and social meaning by individuals marginalized at multiple intersections. My current research investigates the relationship between gender, race, and /s/ production and perception amongst Black nonbinary speakers.
